Classic ASP is easier to learn
Classic ASP runs on older versions of IIS
Classic ASP is more like traditional basic
Classic ASP is more concise
Classic ASP doesn't require you to dick around with configuration files
Classic ASP is established and is very stable

Of course this doesn't preclude a port to Dot.net in the future. Don't get your hopes up though - I haven't got that much free time on my hands.

I think Ken is right because, even if we want to make a .NET portal, we must start from a simple code.

ASPNuke is now at its alpha version, but in the future (at least 3.0 version) somebody can actually suggest to start porting to ASP.NET, and it won't be difficult if we have Classic ASP codes to start from.
